Illinois Conservation Foundation
The role of the Illinois Conservation Foundation and
its partners is to preserve and enhance our precious natural resources
by supporting and fostering ecological, educational, and recreational
programs for the benefit of all people now and for generations to
come.
Aldo Leopold Foundation
For more than twenty years, the Aldo Leopold Foundation
has promoted the care of natural resources and fostered an ethical
relationship between people and land. The Foundation's educational
outreach programs help people understand and accept their responsibility
for the health of the land. Our stewardship initiatives and research
programs encourage ecological and ethical use of private and public
land, and promote an understanding of the total land community.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture’s vision is to promote
and regulate agriculture in a manner which encourages farming
and agribusiness while protecting Illinois’ consumers and our
natural resources.
Wildlife
Habitat Council: Backyard Conservation
Wildlife management and habitat development on small tracts of
land. Backyard Conservation is a cooperative project by the Natural
Resources Conservation Service, the Wildlife Habitat Council,
and the National Association of Conservation Districts.

Leopold Education Project
The Leopold Education Project (LEP) is an innovative, interdisciplinary,
critical thinking, conservation and environmental education curriculum
based on the classic writings of the renowned conservationist,
Aldo Leopold.The Leopold Education Project teaches the public
about humanity's ties to the natural environment in the effort
to conserve and protect the earth's natural resources.

With 204 acres of mixed woodlands, prairie, wetlands, and oldfield
habitat, Severson Dells is an ideal setting for nature study and
appreciation.
